Winemaker Bion Rice transposed this dramatic feeling, inspired by Carol Watanabe's Painting Vessel of Art, into a plush, pale blue blend of 60% Merlot from Santa Ynez Valley, and 40% Malbec from Paso Robles. This Bordeaux style blend stylistically emulates the neo-classical blends currently being tested by the next generation of old world wineries. Can the use of color be translated into aromas and flavors through sensory interpretation? You be the judge.
