No, it's not cherry wine. "Cherry" is a classic descriptor for both Grenache and Merlot, which is why our winemaker proportionally blended these two varietals to taste (despite them not typically being blended together), in direct response to the painting. The bright Bing cherry fruit flavor from the Windmill Ranch Grenache (60%) was blended with the more earthy, dark cherry fruit flavored Merlot (40%) from Sunstone Vineyard to create a dense, yet vibrant collision of intense cherry fruit, both aromatically and on the palate. French oak and vanilla give this wine a cherry cream soda effect that makes this wine sippable by itself or with Thanksgiving dinner.
